Origin
I grew up surrounded by art.
For over forty years, my father worked as a painter. Canvas, textures, materials, light. These elements shaped my perception long before I could define them.
I am, in every sense, the son of an artist. At some point, that need to create had to take form, not as an idea but as something real, something built with my hands.
I found that expression in watchmaking, one of the most demanding and complex disciplines, where creativity meets constraint and every decision must exist in reality.
Over time, this became less a choice and more a direction, a way of turning perception into construction.
Path
My path began in mechanics, through technical training and direct experience with physical systems and precision engineering.
Watchmaking followed as a natural continuation, first as execution, then as design and eventually as independent creation.
In La Chaux-de-Fonds this process became defined. It became clear that an idea only has value if it can survive the reality of making.
From that moment, designing and building became inseparable.
Vision
GKO was founded on a simple principle, removing the distance between conception and realization.
Design, engineering and execution exist within a single continuous process guided by one vision rather than separated roles.
Each watch is developed as a complete structure where proportion, mechanics and material logic evolve together from the beginning.
What defines the final object is not addition but reduction, until only what is necessary remains.
Process
Each GKO watch is created in extremely limited numbers, sometimes as a single piece.
This scale allows full control over every stage of development from concept to final assembly, ensuring coherence between intention and execution.
Every element is evaluated in relation to the whole structure. The objective is coherence, an object where every decision reinforces the integrity of the final result.
Philosophy
Achieving simplicity is often more difficult than creating complexity.
Every line has a function. Every surface interacts with light. Every proportion exists for a reason.
A restrained and classical expression shaped by the careful balance of design, mechanics and proportion.
Behind its apparent simplicity lies a sophisticated object where nothing exists without purpose.
Design at GKO is not applied. It is built.
Origin of place
GKO was born in Ticino.
A region with a strong industrial foundation, deeply connected to Swiss watchmaking, yet without a defined presence in independent haute horlogerie.
This absence creates space.
Within that space emerges a new watchmaking identity rooted in the region.
